This is a Tribute to the Dartmoor ponies that have made Cayberry Dartmoor Stud what it is today
Shilstone Rocks D Day -1980-2007
I am forever grateful to Mrs E Newbolt-Young for allowing him to come to me to end his days.
This wonderful Legendary stallion was bought from his breeder in 1981, he was 3rd at the Northern Dartmoor breed show on his first outing as a yearling, he went on to be male youngstock ch as a 2yo at the Northern Dartmoor and was res champion to White Willows Darwin at the West Midlands Stallion show as a 3yo.
I broke him to ride and he went on to be a tremendous ridden pony, he excelled at whp, as many of his progeny are now doing, he was well ridden by Wendy Stoddard and Emma Grundy, very sadly, after a particularly horrible divorce, I loaded him onto his breeders wagon at the West Midlands Stallion show in 1988, and thought that was the last I would see of him, I knew it was the right decision for him, allthough utterly heartbreaking for me! imagine my utter joy, when Mrs Newbolt-Young rang me in 2002, and said- would you like him back to retire, I could hardly utter the words out, and we went to collect him, he sired winning ponies right up until the night he died in his sleep, He has left me some super babies, D Day will always be my first Dartmoor love, I am very proud to say, most of my ponies have him in their pedigrees, R.I.P my boy.
His son, Shilstone Rocks Dunkirk is very much loved by his owner: Laura, who sent me his pic, thanks Laura.

Catesby Catrena - 1973-2003
This wonderful lady, was a real character, I rescued her from a local dealer, destined to being fattened up! I often used to go looking for childrens ponies, that I would reschool and sell on, I recognised her as a Dartmoor, asked to look at her papers and bought her; with advice from Mrs M. Taylor-- it took me 3 days to catch her!,
She bred me some super ponies and was an Elite mare, I have daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters, I used to hunt her, in my younger days when I was much lighter! she always pulled my arms out, I could never stop, when running with the hounds. Her children have all been performance ponies, Cayberry Dambuster, Cayberry Jenny Wren, Cayberry Ceasefire, Cayberry Thundercloud, her daughter Cayberry Chilli Pepper looks just like mum and is breeding star show winners- Cayberry Atlantic Chill, Cayberry Black Pepper, so many of my ponies are descendents of this wonderful lady, I will never forget her.
